Whitworth Locke Wedding in Central Manchester
Katie & Ash’s story
Katie & Ash met in 2018 on a dating app, after many swipes Katie saw a message from a handsome guy with a cute dog, asking her about her love for ice hockey which made her want to reply.
It turned out Ash had a spare ticket for an Artic Monkeys gig so they met for a drink and the night after went to the gig for date No. 2 and they have been together ever since!
After 4 years together in November 2022 Katie & Ash went on holiday to New Year, where Ash popped the question!
The big day
On Friday 10th November 2023, Katie & Ash married at the stunning Whitworth Locke Hotel in Manchester City Centre.
The couple wanted to do a first look (which I highly recommend, as it helps with any nerves on your big day!). To make the most of the lovely weather we took some photographs close to the Kimpton Clocktower to capture the look and feel of Manchester.
Both Katie & Ash looked amazing and we captured some gorgeous photographs and videos (Wedding Videographer (@haywardvideography) • Instagram photos and videos with Manchester as the backdrop to their wedding photographs.
Ceremony
After the First Look photos we headed back to ‘The Storehouse’ at Whitworth Locke, which had been beautifully decorated for their special day, with floral arrangements and candles, creating a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. Katie & Ash wrote their own vows and in front of close friends and family, they were married in a civil ceremony.
From the reception to the first dance
After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a glass of fizz with family and friends plus tasty canapés in the very stylish bar area of Whitworth Locke in the heart of Manchester City Centre.
I particularly loved the nod to their two beloved dogs on Katie’s bouquet and the little keepsakes and personalised decorations.
Before the wedding party got underway, it was time for speeches that were heartfelt and full of love with speeches from the Mother of the bride, best men, and bridesmaids.
After the speeches we headed back down to ‘The Storehouse’ where the ceremony had taken place, the room was dressed and ready for the evening party including lots of baked treats, pizza and chips, a personalised wedding cake, and wedding decorations. I loved the mix of traditional and non-traditional elements that Katie & Ash had for their wedding.
It was great to be a part of their special day and capture so many candid photos of people full of joy and celebrating such a wonderful couple.
