Case Study: Paul Jardine Web Design

Paul asked me to take some photographs of him and his workspace to update his website, social media to market his web design business. He wanted specific, professional shots to celebrate his work but also some fun shots to show his personality. Here’s what he has to say about his Branding Shoot…

Describe what you wanted to achieve from the photoshoot:

I was redesigning my website and I wanted high quality, professional photos, rather than relying on stock imagery or poor shots I’d taken myself on my phone. I also wanted to use the same photos on my other marketing channels like my email newsletter and social channels.

How did you find the process of booking the shoot?

Jodie’s service listings and prices on her website were very clear and easy to understand. We had a short video call and she was able to form a brief, plan the shoot, and get a good idea of the sort of images I wanted.

How did the shoot day go?

Jodie has a really positive energy and she’s a joy to work with. She got some great shots, much better than I could have imagined. Due to social distancing, Jodie had to direct me from a safe distance and her instructions were clear. Logistically it was probably a nightmare but Jodie remained very positive throughout and the shoot, which was a fun experience. Jodie’s approach is very professional but also a lot of fun and very positive. She has a solid understanding of both the creative side composing shots and the technical aspects like lighting. She has a great skill for composing shots and understanding how lighting works to get the best out of the environment. I’m normally quite awkward in front of the camera but Jodie created a relaxed environment and was very reassuring.

Results

Jodie created a relaxed and fun atmosphere for my branding shoot and the photos she took were fantastic! She went beyond my expectations of the brief!
